"First Day of School" I didn't get very far with this sketch of a mom in a giant SUV waiting to pick up her kid. Hey, I'm not criticizing anyone for driving these behemoths--you should see the size of the kids...

Van Nuys is one of the presidential sculptors, having brought to life Presidents Millard Fillmore, Franklin Pierce and Andrew Johnson. His final president will be President Barack Obama. Among the unique features of the gallery, James uses the front window area as his studio, capitalizing on his unusual ability to paint or sculpt while visiting with curious onlookers.
